We recently worked with Demand Technology to redesign their old website and install a content management system to make updating their website easier. Built in the 2006, the old site was not only dated, but hard to navigate for users. The previous site was basically static html with two separate installs of WordPress powering both the blog and the Performance Sentry FAQs. The support site, powered by HelpSpot was hard to reach making clients have to click from the main site, to the FAQ (WordPress) site and then to the support site. A user navigating the previous site would have to click out to the 3 different “sites” all with slightly different looks which  can be very confusing. After our initial conference call, our goal was clear:  to bring the main static site and two separate WordPress blog and FAQ “sites” together under a single WordPress install that allows for easy management of the various areas of the website. The support site is still powered by HelpSpot and we updated the graphics and look of it to match the main site so there is a seamless experience for the user.

A word about the navigation

Previously, the navigation was positioned vertically down the left side of the site and didn’t show any of the sub-page structure, leaving the user to have to click through several pages to get to where they wanted. By positioning the navigation across the page under the header and implementing drop-down menus for child pages, the user can now quickly access any page they want without having to sift through multiple pages. Additional navigation menus were positioned at the very top-right of the site and on the left-side of the footer area for added ease in moving about the site.

The 1st Challenge Contest just wrapped at the end of January with great success! A total of 315lbs Body Fat was lost by the participants with 50lbs of lean muscle gain. Check out the rest of the final results over on the InMotion blog to find out the winning team and totals.

To celebrate the 1st challenge, Blue Turtle Graphics was asked to design a t-shirt to be given to the participants. Being no stranger to their boot camp and group fitness classes, I had no problem coming up with this fun type-based design.

Owner’s Trasi and Liza, two entreprenuers who also own Over Easy Cafe and Island Paws on Sanibel Island, purchased the duplex on Beach Road and completely updated and furnished both units. Blue Turtle Graphics was hired to create a logo, website and trifold brochure for the Bungalows. The website offers all the details about the duplex units as well as photos, and downloadable rental agreement forms. You can also check the availability of the rentals through their vrbo.com listing. Other website features are local weather on Sanibel Island and language translation for English, Spanish and German. Trifold brochures were created to handout as well as to distribute through the Sanibel Island Chamber of Commerce.

Collier Enterprises Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club hosted its 4th Annual In-Water Luxury Boat Show last month. Blue Turtle Graphics has been lucky to be a part of designing the invite and program for this exciting event for the past 3 years. This year we decided to go with a red/navy blue nautical theme for the artwork. See below and let us know what you think!

A couple other notable print projects include a 13 month wall calendar for Vasari Country Club and a direct mail and ad campaign for Southwest Florida Community Foundation.

Manna Christian Mission, Inc. is a non-profit organization, headquartered in southwest Florida, that helps the plight of the growing Hispanic Community. It began as a source of ministry, providing food and clothes and as time passed, the vision took shape and matured. Manna Christian reaches the community through various outlets such as children’s Sunday School programs, Youth Groups, radio broadcasting as well as ministries located in Guatemala.

Manna Christian didn’t have a website yet and needed Blue Turtle Graphics to create a site that will serve as their main headquarter site. The site needed to be able to be translated in both English and Spanish. Other requirements were to have the ability to add each church to the site and have contact information, photos, etc. that were relative to each church. Also added was a master calendar where they can post various events and happenings from each church.

The other two sites we developed were for a local Sanibel Island construction firm specializing in new residential homes and remodeling. Dan Hahn Custom Builders needed to update and redesign their old site to showcase some of the new construction and interior remodeling projects they had been working on. The newly designed site gives them a more polished  and refined look that accentuates the services they offer.

Dan Hahn and Kevin Vertesch (of Dan Hahn Custom Builders) recently opened the Sanibel Design Center to provide a one-stop interior design center for island residents, interior designers and other contractors. Located in the heart of Sanibel Island, the design center features examples of finished kitchens and bathrooms as well as samples of flooring, wall coverings, cabinets, countertops, appliances, and accessories.
